Thunder Lake

view of Thunder Lake

Thunder Lake is NOT part of the Three Lakes Chain. Thunder lake is an 1800 acre lake and it is 2 miles across to the opposite shore. The shoreline of Thunder lake is mainly made up of state owned land, cranberry marsh and paper mill land. There are limited property owners on the lake so there is hardly any development. This makes for an extremely private and quiet setting. Walleye, Northern Pike, Large & Small Mouth Bass, Perch, Bluegill, Crappie and other pan fish abound. And yes, even the elusive Muskie has been know to be here.

Wildlife galore. The shoreline of Thunder Lake is an excellent location for wildlife viewing. Bald Eagles Frequent the trees around the cottage and call out overhead. Osprey, ducks, egrets and loons abound. The snowmobile trail goes across the lake on the far side. You can sled the trail via the lake.
